Description

This Superfood Blueberry Lemon Shot combines delicious blueberries, zesty lemons, and ginger for a quick and refreshing drink. It’s easy to make, packed with nutrients, and perfect for a health boost any time of day.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (296 g) fresh blueberries, (or frozen)
  • 2 medium lemons, (peeled, quartered)
  • 2-inch piece (about 20 grams) fresh ginger root, (peeled, sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons honey, (raw preferred for extra benefits)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup coconut water

Instructions

  1. Place the blueberries, peeled lemon quarters, ginger slices, honey, black pepper, and coconut water in a blender.
  2. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth, approximately 30 to 60 seconds.
  3. Strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl, using a spoon to aid in extracting the juice. For a smoother shot, consider using cheesecloth.
  4. Fill small glasses or shot bottles with the juice using a funnel. Continue until all the juice is dispensed.
  5. Seal the bottles or cover the glasses and refrigerate to chill before serving.
  6. Stir or shake before consuming, as natural separation may occur.

Notes

Serve cold for the best flavor.
This shot is packed with antioxidants and makes a great pre-workout boost.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey.
