- 8 oz. ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate baking squares
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 6 cups whole milk
- 1 cup baileys® irish cream
- marshmallows or whipped cream
Instructions
- Break the chocolate squares and place them in the slow cooker along with all remaining ingredients except for the Baileys.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 1.5 hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
- Once the mixture is hot, stir in the Baileys Irish Cream.
- Set out mugs with whipped cream and marshmallows on the side for serving.
- Switch the slow cooker to warm mode to keep the hot chocolate ready for everyone for up to 3 hours, remembering to stir often.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
You can substitute whole milk with a non-dairy milk alternative if desired.
For a richer flavor, consider using dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
