Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water, warm (about 110 degrees F)
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons avocado oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl; mix and let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Add oil, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture; mix well. Gradually add 2 cups of flour and mix using the dough hook attachment until sticky.
- Add up to 2/3 cup of flour until dough pulls away from the bowl edges. Mix on low for 2 minutes to knead, then cover with a towel and let rise for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9" x 13" baking dish.
- Transfer dough to a flat surface, divide into 15 pieces, roll into balls, and place evenly in the baking dish.
- Cover loosely and let rise in a warm place for 15-30 minutes until doubled in size. Brush rolls with milk after rising.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature is 190°F.
- Cool for 1-2 minutes, then brush the tops with melted butter and serve.
Notes
Ensure water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
For a richer flavor, consider using melted butter instead of avocado oil.
