Description

This Peach Crisp features ripe peaches baked under a golden, buttery crumble. It’s a quick and easy dessert that’s perfect for gatherings, satisfying sweet cravings without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and cut into 8 pieces
  • 2/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • ¾ cup white all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ stick salted butter, cut into very small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix sliced peaches with sugar and toss to coat. Set aside.
  4. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Add diced butter to the mixture and blend with a pastry blender or fork to create coarse crumbs.
  6. In the bowl of peaches, mix in vanilla, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Toss to combine.
  7. Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Spread the crumb topping evenly over the peaches.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the topping is golden brown and juices are bubbling around the edges.
  10. Remove from the oven and rest for 15 minutes before serving.
  11. Optionally, serve with vanilla ice cream and a sprig of mint.

Notes

Use ripe, juicy peaches for the best flavor.
Feel free to add a dash of lemon juice to the peaches for a hint of tartness.
This dessert pairs wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
