- 1 pound ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning
- 12 ounces tortilla chips sturdy chips to hold the toppings
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for melting
- 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese for melting
- ½ cup jalapeños sliced, for added heat
- ½ cup sour cream for topping
- ½ cup guacamole for topping
- ½ cup fresh salsa for topping
- 1 teaspoon salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, then drain any excess fat and mix in the taco seasoning.
- On a baking sheet, lay out the tortilla chips evenly, then distribute the cooked ground beef on top.
- Add a mix of shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the beef. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly.
- Take out from the oven and add jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa as toppings.
- Serve right away, optionally garnished with cilantro or extra toppings of your choice.
Notes
Use thicker tortilla chips to better support the toppings and avoid sogginess.
