Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 pounds potatoes
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and place them into a large crock pot, keeping the skin on.
  2. Add the whole garlic cloves and pour in the chicken broth.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 4-5 hours until the potatoes are fork-tender.
  4. Add the sour cream, butter, salt, pepper, and oregano to the cooked potatoes and mash them using a potato masher, ensuring the butter and sour cream mix in well.
  5. Once mashed to your liking, stir in milk until you achieve the desired consistency. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

Notes

For creamier mashed potatoes, use more milk according to your preference.
Feel free to add your favorite herbs for added flavor. Try rosemary or thyme!
