Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tail on
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice from 1 lemon, about 3 Tablespoons of juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground or cracked pepper
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss well to coat. Allow the shrimp to marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Thread the marinated shrimp onto metal or soaked wooden skewers, discarding any leftover marinade.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for about 2 minutes on each side or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and serve hot, optionally with lemon wedges for squeezing.
Notes
Make sure to soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or onions to the skewers for extra flavor.
These skewers can also be cooked on an oven broiler if you don’t have access to a grill.
