Description

This Doctored Up White Cake Mix is a delightful treat featuring simple prep and rich flavors, perfect for any occasion or as a quick dessert option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 15.25-ounce box white cake mix
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 egg whites or 3 whole eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325℉ and grease a 9×13-inch pan.
  2. In a stand mixer bowl or a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, flour, and sugar.
  3. Add the sour cream, milk, egg whites, melted butter, vanilla extract, and almond extract if using.
  4. Beat the mixture for 1 minute, remembering to scrape down the sides halfway through.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 28-32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.

Notes

You can substitute whole eggs for egg whites if you prefer a richer flavor.
For layered cakes, consider adjusting baking times and using round pans.
