Description

Crockpot Onion Dip combines the rich flavors of caramelized onions, creamy cheese, and tangy sour cream for a comforting snack that’s perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large onions
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Half each onion, discard the ends and peel, then slice into thin strips.
  2. Place onions in the crockpot, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well to coat.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or overnight.
  4. Stir in sour cream, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and optional hot sauce. Mix until combined, adjusting seasoning to taste.
  5. Serve warm from the slow cooker or chill for at least 1 hour before serving as a cold dip.

Notes

For thicker dip, drain excess juices from the onions before mixing in the other ingredients.
Experiment with different types of cheese for varied flavor.
