Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs raw peanuts in shells
- ¼ cup salt
- water
Instructions
- Rinse and soak the peanuts by sorting through them to remove shells and debris, then soak in cold water for about 30 minutes and drain.
- Place the peanuts in the crockpot and add the salt. Cover with water, leaving about an inch of space to prevent overflow during cooking.
- Set the crockpot to high and cook for approx. 7½ hours or until the peanuts reach your desired softness.
- About halfway through, taste the peanuts; add more salt if needed and stir.
- Monitor the water level, adding more if it dips below the top of the peanuts to keep them fully submerged throughout cooking.
- Once tender, drain the peanuts and serve warm or store them for future snacking.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding spices or seasoning to the cooking water.
These peanuts can be enjoyed warm or cold, making them versatile for many occasions.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
