Description

This Creamy Garlic Pasta is a delightful blend of butter, garlic, and parmesan, making it a simple yet flavorful choice for a speedy dinner. Perfect for a cozy meal!


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup butter (unsalted)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • ½ cup white wine (such as sauvignon blanc)
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain.
  • In a large skillet add the olive oil and butter, then melt over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for about 3 minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a boil.
  • Add the reserved ½ cup of pasta water, mix well, and simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the grated parmesan cheese until melted.
  • Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss to combine.
  • Garnish with additional parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.

Notes

Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit your spice preference.
Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor and texture.
Pair with a salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
