Description

This Creamy Alfredo Sauce is unbelievably rich and flavorful, combining simple ingredients like butter, garlic, and parmesan. It’s perfect for a quick dinner or comfort food that everyone will love!


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • up to 1/4 cup hot milk (optional) or pasta water
  • 1 pkg fettuccine noodles – cooked to package directions
  • freshly chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat and add the minced garlic. Let it simmer for about a minute.
  • Stir in the cream and half and half, whisking until combined. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, whisking to incorporate.
  • Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt slowly while stirring continuously.
  • Once the cheese has melted completely and the sauce is smooth, whisk in hot milk or pasta water in small amounts to achieve desired thickness.
  • Combine the sauce with the cooked fettuccine noodles and toss. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, use less milk or pasta water.
Freshly grated parmesan cheese gives the best flavor and texture.
You can add grilled chicken or shrimp for added protein.
