Cookie Monster Cookies are a delightful treat featuring a blend of rich chocolate chips and crunchy Oreos. With simple prep and vibrant color, these cookies are sure to impress at any gathering, making them a fun and tasty dessert option for everyone!

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp royal blue gel food dye
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup oreo pieces
- 3/4 cup chips ahoy pieces
Instructions
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch in a medium bowl, then set aside. Blend 6 Oreos into small and medium pieces using a food processor, and repeat with 6 Chips Ahoy cookies, set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, and royal blue food dye.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients using a rubber spatula until just combined. Fold in the Oreo pieces, Chips Ahoy pieces, and chocolate chips.
- Preheat the oven to 350℉ and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper. Let the cookie dough rest for 10 minutes to reduce spreading.
- Scoop the cookie dough using a large cookie scoop and place six dough balls on each cookie sheet.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes until the edges are set, noting that they won't turn golden due to the blue color.
- Top each cookie with an extra Oreo piece, a Chips Ahoy piece, and more chocolate chips right after baking. Let them rest on the hot pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
Using room temperature eggs helps the batter mix evenly.
If you want a vibrant color, do not skimp on the gel food dye.
Storing cookies in an airtight container keeps them fresh longer.
