Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch cake pan by greasing and flouring it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt, mixing well before setting aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk the brown sugar, vegetable oil, melted butter, and buttermilk until smooth and blended.
- Add the eggs and vanilla to the wet mixture, mixing until incorporated. Gently stir in the dry mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the shredded zucchini and chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before frosting.
