Description

These Caramelized Figs offer a delightful blend of sweet and savory flavors, topped with honey and pistachios, making them a perfect quick dessert or healthy snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 4-inch sprig thyme
  • 3 large figs, cut in half
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces Greek yogurt, plain or vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons pistachios, toasted

Instructions

  1. Heat a medium skillet over medium-low heat.
  2. Add the honey and thyme leaves, cooking for about 1 minute.
  3. Add the fig halves cut-side down into the honey and caramelize for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Use tongs to turn the figs over and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Serve the caramelized figs over Greek yogurt, drizzled with thyme honey and sprinkled with toasted pistachios.

Notes

Ensure figs are ripe for the best flavor.
Feel free to substitute honey with maple syrup for a vegan version.
Try adding a pinch of sea salt for an extra flavor boost.
