Description

This Butterscotch Sauce boasts an irresistible flavor with simple ingredients like butter, brown sugar, and cream. It’s the ideal topping for desserts and a must-have for food lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons (84g) unsalted butter, sliced
  • 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup (118ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, or vanilla bean paste
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Once melted, mix in the brown sugar and heavy whipping cream, stirring until it reaches a boil.
  3. Allow the mixture to boil without stirring for 3 minutes.
  4. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the vanilla and salt.
  5. Transfer the sauce to a jar and let it cool before covering.
  6. The sauce will thicken as it cools, and will become a soft solid if refrigerated. To reheat, microwave for about 30 seconds, stir and use as desired.

Notes

Ensure the sauce is stirred only after boiling to achieve the right texture.
Use high-quality vanilla for the best flavor enhancement.
This sauce is perfect for drizzling over ice cream or pancakes.
