- 10 large eggs lightly beaten
- 3 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt

- 6 cups cubed bread
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup diced red pepper optional
- sliced green onion optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F if baking immediately.
- Grease a 9x13x2-inch casserole dish.
- Cook the pork sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink and cooked through, stirring frequently.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, and salt in a large bowl until well combined.
- Layer half of the cubed bread in the prepared dish. Add half of the cheese, half of the black pepper, half of the red pepper, and half of the cooked sausage on top. Repeat the layering process.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the dish.
- Cover the casserole and refrigerate overnight or bake immediately.
- If refrigerated, bake uncovered for 60-75 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden. If browning too quickly, cover loosely with foil.
- Top with sliced green onions if desired and serve warm.
