Description

These BBQ ribs are a delightful treat, featuring a savory spice mix and a luscious BBQ sauce. Perfect for gatherings, they’re easy to prepare and burst with flavor, making any occasion special.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs, 2.5 to 3 pounds total weight
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F, positioning the oven rack in the center.
  2. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with foil and mix all dry rub ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Rinse the ribs under cool water, dry them with paper towels, and remove the membrane if present.
  4. Place ribs, meaty side down, on a large piece of foil and rub one-third of the seasoning mix on the bony side.
  5. Flip the ribs, rubbing the remaining seasoning over the meaty side, and wrap in foil tightly.
  6. Set the foil packet on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 2 hours until tender.
  7. Switch the oven to BROIL and carefully open the foil packet to transfer the ribs onto the baking sheet, meaty side down.
  8. Baste the bony side with BBQ sauce, flip, and baste the meaty side generously.
  9. Broil for 4 to 6 minutes until the sauce caramelizes.
  10. Let the ribs rest for about 5 minutes, then slice into individual pieces.

Notes

For a spicier kick, adjust cayenne pepper to taste.
Allowing the ribs to rest boosts flavor and tenderness.
Use your favorite BBQ sauce for varied taste.
