- 1½ cups apple cider
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together.
- In another bowl, combine the apple cider, sugar, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly, then combine with the flour mixture.
- Fill greased donut molds about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake in the oven for 7-9 minutes until golden brown and the tops spring back when pressed.
- Let the donuts cool for 2 minutes, then gently remove them using a fork or knife and place on a sheet tray.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, brush the tops of the donuts with melted butter, then dip in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Ensure the donut molds are well greased for easy removal.
These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days.
