Apple Fritter Monkey Bread combines tender apples with cinnamon and sugar, wrapped in fluffy biscuit pieces. This delightful treat is perfect for family gatherings, offering a comforting taste and easy preparation that brings smiles around the table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 apples, peeled & diced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 12 tbsp water
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp apple juice
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 2 (16 oz) cans pillsbury grands buttermilk biscuits
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F and spray a Bundt pan with non-stick spray.
  2. Peel, core, and dice the apples. Toss them with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, add apples, and cook for 8-10 minutes until tender. If necessary, add water to prevent drying or burning. Let cool slightly.
  4. Layer half of the caramelized apples in the bottom of the Bundt pan.
  5. Cut each biscuit into quarters.
  6. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a gallon Ziplock bag and shake to mix.
  7. Coat half the quartered biscuits in the cinnamon sugar mixture, then distribute them evenly in the prepared pan.
  8. Add the remaining caramelized apples on top of the biscuits.
  9. Coat the other half of the quartered biscuits and place them in the pan.
  10. Melt brown sugar and butter over low heat in a small saucepan, stirring until combined, then pour over the biscuits.
  11. Bake for 30 minutes.
  12. Remove from oven, let sit briefly, then invert onto a dinner plate.
  13. To make icing, whisk together powdered sugar, apple juice, and vanilla, then drizzle over the slightly cooled monkey bread.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in nuts or raisins with the apples.
Make sure to adjust baking time if your Bundt pan is particularly large or small.
Let the monkey bread cool slightly to allow easier removal from the pan.
