Description

This Apple Bundt Cake features a moist texture infused with fragrant spices and chunks of fresh apples. Perfect for any gathering, it’s easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups (420g) all purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup (198g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (213g) brown sugar
  • ¾ cup (149g) vegetable oil
  • 1 cup (255g) applesauce, sweetened or unsweetened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ½3 cups diced apples, cut into ¼-inch chunks
  • ½ cup (107g) brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (57g) unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ⅔ cup (76g) powdered sugar, sifted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 10 to 12 cup bundt pan with butter and flour.
  2. Peel, core, and dice the apples into ¼ inch chunks, aiming for about 2.5-3 cups total.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract until mixed well.
  5. Gradually add half of the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and combine.
  6. Stir in the remaining dry ingredients along with the diced apples until just combined.
  7. Transfer the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the surface.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes; if browning too quickly, cover loosely with foil. Bake for an additional 10-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure apples are evenly diced to promote uniform baking.
Check cake for doneness with a toothpick inserted in the center for the best results.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for freshness.
