- 2 slices bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
- 1 tablespoon softened butter or mayo
- 2–3 slices cheese (sharp cheddar, American, provolone, Swiss, gouda, or a combo)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 370°F for 3–5 minutes.
- Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. Place one slice butter-side down and layer with cheese, keeping it away from the edges.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up, and gently press the sandwich. Insert a toothpick through the center to secure.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 370°F for 4–5 minutes, then carefully flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the air fryer, take out the toothpick, slice, serve and enjoy!
Notes
To add extra flavor, consider using a mix of different cheeses.
For a crispy crust, ensure bread is evenly buttered before cooking.
