Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup diced apples
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup 2% blended cottage cheese
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon almond milk, plain, unsweetened
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375℉.
- In a bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Toss to coat the apple pieces.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the bowl and mix well.
- Incorporate the blended cottage cheese into the mixture using a wooden spoon or silicone spatula. Once a ball forms, knead the dough with your hands.
- Lightly flour a work surface and turn the dough out, cutting it into 4 pieces.
- Place 2 apple fritters on parchment paper, pressing them into a traditional fritter shape (round).
- Air fry the fritters at 375℉ for 4 minutes, then flip and continue frying for another 4 minutes. Repeat until all dough is cooked.
- Meanwhile, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar and almond milk in a bowl using a whisk.
- Once the fritters are cooked, dip each into the glaze and place them on a wire cooling rack.
- Allow a few minutes for the glaze to set before serving.
Notes
For a crispier fritter, make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer.
You can substitute almond milk with any milk of your choice.
Feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor.
