Description

These Cabbage Steaks are a flavorful, healthy option that’s quick to prepare. With tender roasted cabbage, seasoned simply with olive oil and spices, they make an easy and delicious addition to any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 medium head green cabbage (~2 pounds), cored and chopped into 1½-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • optional toppings: fresh lemon juice, grated parmesan

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place the cabbage pieces on a baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Toss until well coated.
  4. Spread the cabbage in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  5. Roast for 20–25 minutes, tossing halfway through until the cabbage is tender with caramelized edges.
  6. For added color and crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes, keeping a close watch.
  7. Remove from the oven and top with desired toppings. Adjust seasoning if needed and serve warm.

Notes

For a zesty flavor, drizzle fresh lemon juice before serving.
Grated parmesan adds a delightful savory touch if desired.
